Language lesson

Richard Fernandez has a great little foreign language lesson:
Time for a language lesson. “Con mucho gusto te pagaré el Martes la hamburguesa de hoy.”  The English equivalent is “I’ll gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger to-day”.  J. Wellington Wimpy would feel at home in Madrid.
Now, the question do you say that in Greek?  Or Ebonics. Or Chicagoese?  Fernandez probes how all of these places are on the financial ropes for their own variants of playing Wimpy with the public funds.

Read it.
