The full plate

Seems that while our President says that he is focused on jobs, the only one he seems to care about is his own.  And that of his caddy.

Jobs Council meetings in the last six months = ZERO.

Just like the man himself.

Still doing fine

Following up on their earlier ad focusing on individuals and Obama's "fine" comment, the Romney campaign released another video, this time using members of the media to tell highlight the bad jobs situation.

Keep hammering.  This is the campaign McCain should have run.  Henry Clay said he'd rather be right than president.  McCain must have wanted to be polite and liked rather than president.  I just hope Romney would rather be president than just about anything else.

Doing just fine

Following up on Obama's "The private sector is doing fine" statement, the Romney campaign fires back with a great web ad.

I am so impressed with the Romney team's willingness to fire back at Obama, both fast and hard.  Had McCain done so, the 2008 would have been different.  Glad that Romney learned from watching that debacle.

Green video

As a followup to our post on the Obama administration's definitions of "green jobs", we bring you a video from Darrell Issa and the House Oversight Committee.

Amazing how simple truths can make a Democrat bureaucrat look so foolish.

"Green" jobs???

From Fox News:
The Obama administration on Wednesday acknowledged a wide-ranging definition of  "green jobs" that includes bus driver, bicycle-shop clerk and other unexpected lines of employment, which the chairman of the GOP-led House oversight committee said is being done for "clearly political purposes."

GOP Rep. Darrell Issa, chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, made the assertion during a hearing on how the administration counts so-called green jobs and the Labor Department's recent change to how reporters can access key unemployment reports and other information.

The Labor Department "has jeopardized the integrity of employment data in some cases for clearly political reasons," he said.

Issa suggested the administration is reclassifying such jobs to prove that billions of taxpayer dollars, through the federal stimulus program, have created green, or environmentally-focused jobs, a major initiative for President Obama.

Politically Correct with Big Sis

The Daily Caller breaks the story:
President Barack Obama’s Homeland Security secretary, Janet Napolitano, has presided over the hiring of at least four senior staffers and advisers who have no law enforcement experience but align politically with the president.

Jordan Grossman was a special adviser and deputy to the deputy chief of staff at the Department of Homeland Security, for instance, yet his resume shows no law enforcement experience. Before Grossman got his post in January 2009, he was a “special assistant” at the Obama-Biden presidential transition team after working for Obama’s 2008 election campaign.

Before that, Grossman worked as a research assistant at the Annenberg Public Policy Center, a communications think tank at the University of Pennsylvania. Grossman also interned for the left-wing Center for American Progress, and for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.

He lists no law enforcement experience on his resume, even though the Obama administration had hired him into a senior law enforcement role. Grossman has since left his government position for to attend Harvard Law School.
Obama is great on jobs.  Jobs for the politically connected, paid for with taxpayer money.  Jobs that are given without regard for qualifications, just regard for connections.

Out of the mouth of babes....

From the walking gaffe-machine, aka VP Joe Biden:

I never had an interest in being a mayor 'cause that's a real job.  You have to produce.  That's why I was able to be a senator for 36 years.
Finally, I agree with him on something.

News Flash....Detroit Broken

From Motorcitytimes comes the latest update:

When a city depends on governmental agencies as three of its top five employers, there is a serious problem. When you drill further into Detroit’s employment data, you find that 47.8% of employees at the city’s top 25 employers work for a tax payer supported (governmental) agency. In other words, a very large (and expensive) percentage of Detroit’s work force does not add anything to the economic growth of the city whatsoever.

More on the stimulus

The Washington Times reports:

Despite receiving more than $885 million in federal economic stimulus funds since 2009, the D.C. government — whose residents face one of the highest unemployment rates in the nation — cannot say how many jobs it actually created for those who live in the District.

Most of the money has been spent, and data suggest that overall regional job growth did occur as a result of the massive infusion of capital. But a review by The Washington Times of figures provided by D.C. officials shows that the city spent hundreds of millions of dollars without being able to demonstrate any significant improvement in the city’s jobs outlook.

If anything, the employment picture has worsened in the District. At the end of 2011, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the city’s unemployment rate was 10.4 percent, ahead of only three states: Nevada (12.6 percent), California (11.1 percent) and Rhode Island (10.8 percent).

In the District, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the unemployment rate has increased by 8 percent since 2009, as the D.C. government was receiving historic levels of federal stimulus funding via contracts, grants, loans, tax benefits and entitlements.
My bet is that it is not that they can't say, but don't want to.  Better to have no number than some pitiful excuse for a jobs creation plan.

Hey, but it's the thought that counts.  Let's multiply that $885 million by all the other "constituencies" that got cash and you can see that this was cronyism on a grand scale.

The Stimulus

Remember how the Obama stimulus was supposed to provide jobs for Americans?

From KVAL-TV in Eugene, OR comes this story:

Federal Stimulus money went to hire foreign workers before Americans as KVAL-TV (Eugene, OR) reports.

Reportedly, four companies in Oregon used nearly $7 million in taxpayer-funded stimulus money for a job that hired 250 foreign workers. The companies were able to exploit a loophole that allowed them to hire workers using the H-2B visa system.
Logging jobs in Oregon that went to foreigners.  Loans to cronies in the "green energy" market.  Payoffs to unions for campaign support.  Does the public know how much of a boondoggle it all was?

From Orlando

News report:

President Obama was in Disney World where he unveiled his new plan to create jobs. He was joined by Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse but not Goofy. He had to stay behind to tend to his vice presidential duties.
